Didar, is a Persian word meaning “encounter.” The music of Shahab Azinmehr, Tristan Driessens and Farid Kheradmand ranges from classical music of Iran and makam music traditions of its’ neighbouring countries, as well as a touch of early European music. With a wide range of accompanying instruments like tar, setar, oud, bendir and tombak, Didar presents a program of ancient as well as original instrumental pieces and songs, including powerful vocal improvisations based on mystical poetry by Omar Khayyam, Rumi and others.
