Nabil Naïr
Nabil Naïr is a clarinet, ney and piano player. Born in Tangier (Morocco), he studied classical piano since childhood and later learned the clarinet self-taught, when he moved to Spain more than twenty years ago. Passionate about countless cultures and musical styles, from contemporary jazz to modal and traditional musics, he has had the opportunity to learn —primarily through the Labyrinth Musical Workshop— alongside musicians such as Manos Achalinotopoulos, Efrén López, Christos Barbas, Harris Lambrakis, Sadreddin Özçimi or Murat Aydemir, among many others.
Currently based in Barcelona, he has participated in traditional music influenced projects such as Faluka, Jako el Muzikante, Milo Ke Mandarini Trio or Evoéh, as well as in improvised music ensembles and other interdisciplinary proposals. With an insatiable curiosity and wide interest in arts, he continues to explore these musical languages from different perspectives and through diverse projects and collaborations.
