Serkan Halili

Istanbul born Serkan Mesut Halili, is a currently one of the foremost representatives of the Turkish kanun.
He studied in Istanbul and completed a master degree in 2013 and a Phd degree (DMA, Doctor of Musical Arts) in 2018 at Halic University Institute Of Graduate Education.
Beside playing Kanun in classical style in Turkish and Ottoman music, Serkan Halili has also expanded his art to unconventional styles including contemporary and western classical music, ladino and rembetico.
He is a member as an Assistant Professor Doctor in kanun, at ITU Turkish Music State Conservatory Instrumental Performance Department.
