Isabelle de Spoelberch
Isabelle de Spoelberch studied instrument making at the HTBLA (Fachschule für Streich und Zupfinstrumentenbau) in Hallstatt, Austria, graduating with great distinction. Her viola d’amore, produced as her graduation piece, won her the “Felix” prize.
Following this training, a dream came true when she began a three-year specialization with master violin-maker and artist Franz Reschenhofer. Under his guidance, she perfected her harp-making skills.
Since 2014, she has been building historic harps and her own creations in her Brussels workshop Atelier de la Harpe. She also makes other plucked and bowed string instruments, such as cellos, ouds and violas d’amore.
