Andrea Piccioni – concert
BEaT
Andrea Piccioni’s solo performance, with handpan, jaw harp, tamburello, frame drums, electronics and voice!
Introducing BEaT, an innovative solo project by master percussionist Andrea Piccioni that fuses the rich sounds of frame drums, the distinctive tones of the scacciapensieri (jaw harp), and evocative vocals with cutting-edge electronics and effects. This unique blend creates a captivating auditory experience that transcends traditional musical boundaries.
In BEaT, Andrea employs instruments such as the tamburello, riqq, bendir, marranzano, doromb, ribeba, and handpan, seamlessly integrating them with modern electronic devices like the Line 6 DL4 MKII and Boss SY-200 synthesizers. This combination allows for a dynamic interplay between acoustic and electronic elements, resulting in a soundscape that is both timeless and contemporary.
The project showcases Andrea’s commitment to exploring new expressive and sonic potentials of frame drums in the encounter with electronics. As noted by Salvatore Esposito of Blogfoolk, “Listening takes us through tracks with different atmospheres and suggestions, in which Piccioni’s sound research of the last few years stands out.”
Experience the mesmerizing fusion of tradition and innovation with BEaT, where ancient rhythms meet modern technology to create a truly immersive musical journey.
