Sanjay Khyapa & friends

Sanjay Khyapa has been deeply involved with the Bengali Baul philosophy, spirituality and music thanks to Baul masters like Gaur Khyapa, Subal Das Baul, Padamsree Sree Purna Das Baul and Sree Gaur Hari Das Baul. His main instruments are the Indian frame drum named the dubki as well as the dotara lute, both baul tradition instruments from the Bengal region in the eastern part of India. Sanjay learned the dubki from the legendary West Bengali master Tinkari Chakraborty.

Just a few days before heading back to his beloved home town Shantiniketan, this multi-faceted musician will offer a concert alongside his friends and fellow musicians who are living in Belgium: the Indian baul singer Malabika Brahma Gültekin, Anatolian singer and saz virtuoso Emre Gültekin, Belgian Turkish oud player Tristan Driessens and Belgian classical guitarist Veronique Gillet.
