Yurdal Tokcan is universally recognized as the foremost oud player in the world today. His command of the instrument on a technical level puts him in a class entirely of his own, but more importantly, his fluid and highly emotive improvisations (taksim), as well as his profoundly sensitive renderings of the complex and intricate compositions of the Turkish classical tradition reveal him to be a musician of great depth and subtlety.

For this exceptional event, he will be accompanied by his son Ozan Tokcan who, over the course of the last three years, evolved as one of the most promising young oud players of his generation.

Father and son will be accompanied on doholla (bass darbuka) by Levent Yildirim, one of the world’s most versatile and astonishing percussionists.
