Fahrettin Yarkın
He was born in Istanbul in 1960. He studied at Istanbul Technical University Turkish Music State Conservatory. In 1981, he got accepted at the Orchestra of the State Radio in Turkey as a percussion performer.
His background as a percussion musician is prolific in plenty of collaborations of concerts, seminars, workshops and recordings not only in Turkey, but also in The Netherlands, Belgium, Denmark, Sweden, U.S.A., Japan, China and many Arab countries. He has managed to obtain many students almost all around Europe.
In 1994, he established “Yarkin Turk Rhythm Group” music ensemble with Ferruh Yarkın; Yarkın brothers published 4 albums: Ten (1999), Ten’tende, (2001), Caravanserai (2002) and Hayy (2008). He wrote the book about “Usuls in Turkish Music”. He has been working with Jordi Savall, Kutsi Ergüner, Andre Rieu and many other significant artists.
