Volkan Ertem

(b. 1980, Istanbul) studied at the Istanbul Technical University Turkish Music State Conservatory, graduating from the Instrument Department in 2001, where he trained with leading masters of Classical Turkish Music. He has performed and recorded extensively with prominent ensembles and artists, accompanying many renowned vocalists and collaborating with musicians such as Derya Türkan, Murat Aydemir, Mutlu Torun, and Mehmet Bitmez. A former contracted artist at TRT Istanbul Radio, he has given concerts across Europe and Asia and participated in major cultural events, including the 2010 Istanbul European Capital of Culture and the IKSV Istanbul Music Festival. He has been a cellist with the Presidential Classical Turkish Music Choir since 2006 and continues to perform and record with projects such as Geçen Yüzyıl and the Cemal Reşit Rey Turkish Music Ensemble.
